The Deep Sentinel App is required for system setup and provides step-by-step instructions.
Hardware setup
- The PoE Switch (TP-Link) is unmanaged but we recommend connecting the PoE Hub and Modem or Router to ports 17 and 18. The Cameras can be connected to any available PoE ports. If you have an existing Switch, follow the appropriate setup steps.

- Most installs can keep the toggle switches on the PoE Switch for “Extend Mode” and “Priority Mode” in the OFF position. If the install requires Cameras that are over 100m (328’) from the PoE Switch, then enable “Extend Mode” and connect these cameras to ports numbered 1 - 8 (these are the ports shaded red on the TP-Link front panel).

- Complete all connections using Ethernet cables (CAT 5e or better) before powering ON the PoE Switch and PoE Hub.
- Check the Modem is powered ON and has internet service.
- Power ON the PoE Switch by plugging it into a power outlet. Verify internet service by connecting a laptop to an available port on the PoE Switch. Turn OFF wifi on the laptop and open a web page to check there is the internet.
Power ON the PoE Hub.
Check on the back of the Hub that the Power Supply rocker switch is in the “I” ON position.
Power ON the PoE Hub by pressing the large push button on the side of the tower. See illustration. An LED will light if properly powered.
Add Cameras and finish setup using the app.
Troubleshooting
- Sometimes PoE Hub internal cables can become disconnected during shipping. If you experience errors when onboarding, remove the Hub from Power (disconnect the AC power cable completely) and check inside the case for any obvious loose or disconnected cables.
- Lens alignment can change during shipping and when mounting. If you notice a Camera image is blurry, you may need to reset the lens. This process can be completed by deleting the Camera from the App and then re-adopting it.
