Multi-Tenant FAQs

Multi-tenant properties have unique challenges, and our solution allows us to prevent the most common types of crimes—access, physical crimes, theft, and assault. Deep Sentinel’s live guard surveillance service offers real-time crime prevention vs. just recording.

How does the Deep Sentinel system work?

Deep Sentinel employs a proactive approach to overnight crime prevention in real time on multi-tenant properties. The solution uses a combination of advanced AI technology, state-of-the-art cameras equipped with two-way audio and sirens, and live virtual security guards—LiveSentinel agents—ready to intervene before a crime occurs. Visit Deep Sentinel’s Support Center to learn more about how it works.

What should I do if I see something suspicious?

If you need to report a security issue, please contact your apartment/property manager. While the Deep Sentinel Customer Care team can only assist account holders, LiveSentinel guards will respond to events within a camera's field of view and protection zone during monitored hours.

When do LiveSentinel agents intervene?

You can learn what events and behaviors are considered “suspicious” and how LiveSentinel agents will respond on the Deep Sentinel website.

How LiveSentinel Guards Identify Suspicious Behavior

Suspicious vs. Non-Suspicious Behavior

How will LiveSentinel agents intervene when necessary?

When a LiveSentinel guard views a potential security event, they determine the appropriate response based on very clear Standard Operating Procedures. A guard may use one of 4 possible responses.

What should I do if the guards intervene on me?

A key Deep Sentinel guard protocol is called “Trust but Verify”—Deep Sentinel’s “HELLO” Protocol. If our LiveSentinel guards see a behavior that is suspicious but not criminal, they will respond to the event in a non-elevated manner, addressing the person with “Hello, this is Deep Sentinel” and requesting to understand the individual’s business on the property.

For example, a tenant might be stopped if guards identify loitering within arm's length of the door. In such a case, the guard will ask for clarification on the activity and continue to observe for security purposes. An intervention involving an alarm or police call will only occur if an observable crime is being committed.

Can I let the guards know to be on the lookout for someone who should not have access to the property?

Unfortunately, Deep Sentinel cannot accommodate custom requests. We must keep the directions to our guards simple and universal. Each individual “simple” request adds to the complexity that guards must handle and takes away from their ability to identify suspicious behavior.

Why Deep Sentinel Does Not Enforce Restraining Orders

How quickly will guards respond to suspicious activity?

In most cases, a guard will respond in 30-60 seconds: Guard Response Time

Does Deep Sentinel contact law enforcement in the event of a crime?

Yes! Deep Sentinel always guarantees that we will report crimes promptly to law enforcement and that we can provide them the information required—as witnesses to a crime in progress—to enable a faster and more appropriate response.

Does Deep Sentinel offer 24/7 live guard service?

Currently, our service is only available for overnight and after-hours live monitoring, but 24/7 services will be available this year for select use cases.
