What is needed to install and setup the system
The Deep Sentinel system is easy to install by even a novice DIYer. Setup typically takes 20 – 30 minutes depending on the number of Cameras. Watch our how-to-videos to get a feel for the installation process.
The system includes wall-mounting hardware, a masonry drill bit (5mm or 3/16"), and a screwdriver. Listed below are the other items you will need to complete setup:
Internet connection
The Deep Sentinel Hub attaches to your home internet so it can communicate with and interchange information with our servers. For the system to work an upload speed of 1.5 Mbps (per camera) or higher is required. A quick speed test will confirm if your internet service is adequate. More information here.
Mobile device
A mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet, is required. The Deep Sentinel app is used to set up, configure, and interact with the system.
The Deep Sentinel app requires the following OS versions:
Apple devices: iOS version 10 or higher
Android devices: 4.4 or 5 or higher
If you use the app on an earlier OS version than these minimums, it might not function as expected.
To download the mobile app for your Apple or Android device, you can do one of the following:
- Visit your device's app store and search for Deep Sentinel.
- If you have a QR reader installed on your device, scan the QR code to be directed to the app in the app store on your device.
Ladder
We recommend each Camera be mounted 6 - 8ft high, so a small ladder or step stool is needed for installation.
Drill
If you are installing the Camera mounts on brick, stucco, or concrete, then some holes will need to be drilled. Included in your install kit, is a masonry drill bit. But a drill is required.
