Without a battery backup, the PoE Hub and cameras lose power during an outage, so the system won't capture or send events to the Guards. Adding a UPS (a surge protector with a built-in backup battery) keeps things running through short outages. Connect the internet modem/router, PoE network switch, and Deep Sentinel PoE Hub to the UPS - the Hub draws a lot of power, so use a large-capacity UPS to maximize runtime.
