Dumpster Guard Monitoring
Learn how to name your cameras for dumpster monitoring so LiveSentinel guards can identify and respond to illegal dumping activity on your property.
Overview
If your cameras capture a dumpster or trash disposal area, guards can monitor for illegal dumping and unwanted activity, but only if the camera is properly named.
To enable this feature, the camera’s name must include the word “Dumpster.” This ensures our LiveSentinel guards know to monitor that camera for illegal activity around the dumpster area.
Why This Matters
Our guards rely on camera names to understand what they’re watching.
When a camera is labeled “Dumpster,” it signals the guard to look for:
-
Illegal dumping or disposal (e.g., non-residents leaving trash)
-
Suspicious or prolonged activity near dumpsters
-
Unauthorized vehicle access (e.g., trucks offloading waste)
Guards will intervene when activity appears suspicious, using standard voice-down warnings and escalation protocols.
📝 Note: Exact definitions of “illegal dumping” and escalation thresholds are being finalized. We’ll update this article once confirmed by Yana.
How to Name Your Dumpster Camera
Follow these simple steps to ensure guards can properly monitor your dumpster area:
-
Log in to your Deep Sentinel app or online portal.
-
Navigate to your Camera List.
-
Identify the camera(s) showing your dumpster area.
-
Rename the camera so that the name includes the word “Dumpster.”
-
✅ Example: North Lot Dumpster
-
✅ Example: Back Alley Dumpster
-
❌ Incorrect: North Lot Cam or Back Lot
-
-
Save your changes and confirm the new name appears in your app.
What to Expect from Guards
Once the camera name includes “Dumpster”:
-
Guards will actively monitor for illegal dumping or unauthorized use.
-
Guards may issue an audio warning if illegal dumping is observed.
-
If needed, guards may escalate the incident following standard procedures (TBD from Yana).
⚠️ If “Dumpster” is not in the camera name, our guards may not recognize the area for specialized monitoring.
