Does the PoE support motion-activated or continuous recording?
DS PoE Cameras and Wireless Cameras detect motion differently.
Wireless Cameras rely on PIR for Motion Detection
The Wireless cameras include a passive infrared sensor (PIR). These work by measuring infrared (IR) light radiating from an object in its field of view. They work entirely by detecting radiant heat emitted or reflected from objects. When the PIR sensor detects a change in radiant heat, the Camera wakes up creates an event.
DS PoE Cameras do not use PIR
These cameras detect motion at the pixel level in the field of view. The PoE Camera creates an event when a specific number of pixels change in size, color, or brightness.
Pixel-based motion detection has the potential to create many false and irrelevant notifications, but DS Artificial Intelligence cuts out the noise.
