DS2 Cameras Factory Reset

To factory reset a DS2 camera:

  1. Carefully remove the camera from the mount and bring it inside close to the hub.
  2. Unplug the hubs power cable. (This step makes sure the camera is not connecting to a hub.)
  3. Also remove battery from hub if inserted.
  4. Remove the battery from inside of the camera for 10-15 seconds.
  5. Re-insert a fully charged battery inside of the camera.
  6. Wait for the camera to say "hub not found." Then press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds and the camera will reset.
    1. If the camera says "Ready to pair", it has already been reset. If you wish to reset it again: press the camera power button > the camera will say pairing and after some time the camera will say "hub not found."  > Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds and the camera will reset.
  7. You will know the reset worked when the camera starts talking again, release the button:

    1. If it says "Ready to pair, press the button to continue" - the camera is successfully reset and is ready to be paired to the hub.

    2. If it says "Hub not found" - repeat and hold the button on the camera again for 20 seconds.

After the reset:

  1. Insert a fully charged battery into the camera, the camera will say "Ready to pair, press the button to continue."
  2. Reconnect the power cable to the hub and wait for the LED to turn solid green.
  3. In the app, go to device manager:
    1. If the camera is still showing in device manager, delete it and wait 1-2 minutes before proceeding to add the camera.
    2. Tap add camera > DS2 Camera
  4. Wait until the Hub LED flashes white
  5. Push camera button 1 time. The camera will say "Pairing"
  6. Once successful, you will hear "Camera connected"

FAQ:

  1. What can I do if my camera is stuck saying the following? "Battery ___%, Battery Condition is ____"  and keeps repeating?
    1. The camera is still able to connect to your local WiFi. Either make sure both the hub AND the WiFi router/access point/mesh are unplugged before continuing, or you can take the camera outside of range of your WiFi access point.
  2. I did the reset, why is my camera still saying "Hub not found"?
    1. Holding the camera power button for 15-20 seconds needs to be done within 50 seconds of the camera saying "hub not found" or the factory reset will not work.
    2. Make sure the hub is in pairing mode, and that your camera has been deleted from the device manager.
    3. The reset may need to be performed again. To reset it again: wait for the camera to say "ready to pair, press the button to continue" then press the camera power button > the camera will say pairing and after some time the camera will say "hub not found."  > Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds and the camera will reset.
