DS2 Cameras Factory Reset
To factory reset a DS2 camera:
- Carefully remove the camera from the mount and bring it inside close to the hub.
- Unplug the hubs power cable. (This step makes sure the camera is not connecting to a hub.)
- Also remove battery from hub if inserted.
- Remove the battery from inside of the camera for 10-15 seconds.
- Re-insert the battery inside of the camera.
- Press the camera power button, the camera will say pairing and after sometime the camera will say "hub not found." Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds and the camera will reset. (NOTE -- Holding the camera power button for 15-20 seconds needs to be done within 50 seconds of the camera saying "hub not found" or the factory reset will not work.)
Full steps:
- If the camera is connected to local WiFi, first connect the camera back from the AP to your Hub via DS app.
- Remove battery from the camera.
- Unplug Hub and remove any inserted battery from the charger.
- Insert the battery into the camera. It will play the following audio: "Battery x%" > "Battery condition is ____" > ... > "Hub not found"
- After you hear "hub not found" hold the power button on the camera for 15-20 seconds.
- Once successful, you will hear "Ready to pair" followed by "Press the button to continue"
- Replug the hub and wait for the LED to turn solid green.
- In the app, go to device manager and Add camera > POE Camera
- Wait until the Hub LED flashes white
- Push camera button 1 time
- Once successful, you will hear "Camera connected"
If the camera is stuck looping like so:
- Battery 100%
- Battery Condition is good
- ...
- Repeat
Then the camera is still able to connect to your local WiFi. If you are unable to swap the camera to Hub WiFi (see step 1 under Full steps above), then make sure both the hub AND the WiFi router/access point/mesh are unplugged before continuing.
