DS2 Cameras won't pair to WiFi

The following are the most common reasons WiFi fails to add to DS2 cameras:

  1. WiFi network must be broadcasting 2.4GHz
  2. WiFi network must be secured WPA2 (not WPA3)
  3. SSID is case sensitive. Any errors in capitalization will result in failure to pair the camera to WiFi.
  4. Hub is plugged into a different network than the WiFi. If you have multiple routers, please ensure the WiFi network being broadcasted from the same router that the hub is plugged into.
  5. SSID and password do not support some special characters (such as apostrophe)
  6. The camera is too far away from the hub to receive the WiFi credentials

Here is a method to follow to solve most of these problems:

  1. Carefully remove the camera from the mount and bring it inside near the DS2 Hub.
  2. Remove the battery from the camera and reinsert it. Once it says "camera connected", try to live view the camera in the app. This confirms the camera is connected.
  3. In the app, go to Settings > Device Manager > Select your camera > Change connection and follow the prompts to connect it to local WiFi.
