DS2 Cameras won't pair to WiFi
The following are the most common reasons WiFi fails to add to DS2 cameras:
- WiFi network must be broadcasting 2.4GHz
- WiFi network must be secured WPA2 (not WPA3)
- SSID is case sensitive. Any errors in capitalization will result in failure to pair the camera to WiFi.
- Hub is plugged into a different network than the WiFi. If you have multiple routers, please ensure the WiFi network being broadcasted from the same router that the hub is plugged into.
- SSID and password do not support some special characters (such as apostrophe)
- The camera is too far away from the hub to receive the WiFi credentials
Here is a method to follow to solve most of these problems:
- Carefully remove the camera from the mount and bring it inside near the DS2 Hub.
- Remove the battery from the camera and reinsert it. Once it says "camera connected", try to live view the camera in the app. This confirms the camera is connected.
- In the app, go to Settings > Device Manager > Select your camera > Change connection and follow the prompts to connect it to local WiFi.
